Bruce Miller, MD

Trauma, Joint Replacement & General Orthopaedics

Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine and his medical degree at the Chicago Medical School. He completed his Internship and Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. Dr. Miller is Board-Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. At his previous employer, Houston Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Associates, Dr. Miller served as the team physician for the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Houston Aeros. Dr. Miller’s interests are general orthopaedic surgery including trauma, joint replacement and sports-related injuries.

Gregory Jeansonne, MD

Trauma, Joint Replacement & General Orthopaedics

Dr. Jeansonne, also known as Dr. Greg to his patients, has completed two undergraduate degrees from Louisiana State University in Mechanical Engineering and Zoology. He completed his medical degree in 2001 from Louisiana State University, New Orleans. Dr. Jeansonne went on to complete a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Tulane University, New Orleans. He completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Tulane University, New Orleans. Due to Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Jeansonne completed the final year of his Orthopaedic Residency at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis. He is Board-Eligible member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Jeansonne is active in orthopaedic trauma research and developing new fracture care techniques. He enjoys all aspects of general orthopaedics with special interests in trauma and joint replacement. Fun Fact: While at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Dr. Jeansonne competed in the Pole Vault for the National Championship Track & Field team.

Jeffery France, MD

General Orthopaedics

Dr. France is a home-grown local having grown up in Kingsport and graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and medical school at the University of Tennessee, Memphis where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. Dr. France completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis and is Board-Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. France provides for the treatment and management of all areas of general orthopaedic surgery.

Jeffrey Marchessault, MD

Orthopaedic Hand Surgery

Dr. Marchessault received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed an Internship at Malcolm Grow Air Force Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. Dr. Marchessault completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas before finishing an Orthopaedic Hand Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Marchessault is a proud 25-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an Air Force flight surgeon in Air Force Special Operations and a fighter squadron of F-15 Eagles. Dr. Marchessault has served in Iraq and Afghanistan in direct support of our troops. Due to his efforts, Dr. Marchessault was awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Forces Europe Surgeon of the Year distinction and he was granted the exclusive ‘MF’ special experience identifier for continued and sustained excellence in academic medicine by the Air Force.

Patrick Riggins, MD

Sports Medicine, Joint Replacement & General Orthopaedics

Dr. Riggins received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville and his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed a post-graduate Internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center as well as his Orthopaedic Residency. Upon completion of his Orthopaedic Residency, Dr. Riggins completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic in Orlando, Florida. He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has been a featured presenter at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Southern Orthopaedic Association and the Florida Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Riggins is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. While Dr. Riggins has completed his Fellowship in Sports Medicine, he enjoys treating all phases of general orthopaedic surgery.

Todd Horton, MD

Hand & Upper Extremities

Dr. Horton received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego in Cellular Biology and Biochemistry. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego. Dr. Horton completed a Fellowship in Hand Upper Extremity Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and is Board-Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Horton has a very distinguished military background that includes rising to the level of Commander in the United States Navy, Medical Corps as well as time spent at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Naval Medical Center-Sand Diego, Naval Medical Center-Portsmouth, Tripler Army Medical Center-Hawaii and the Combined Joint Task Force/Horn of Africa Expeditionary Medical Force 13 – Camp Lemonier, Djibouti. Dr. Horton enjoys treating injuries of the hand and upper extremities.

Galen Smith, MD

Spine Surgery & General Orthopaedics

Dr. Galen Smith received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School. He completed an Internship at the University of Louisville Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky before completing his Orthopaedic Residency at the Campbell Foundation at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Smith continued his education by completing a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at Case Western Reserve University Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is Board-Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and in Spine Surgery by the American Board of Spine Surgery. Dr. Smith is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves and has served proudly in deployments to Iraq in 2004, Landstuhl Germany Army Trauma Center in 2006 and Afghanistan in 2009. Dr. Smith is a Certified Impairment Rating Specialist acknowledged by the American Academy of Expert Medical Evaluators.
